Stream Pies: Season Recap

At “Stream Pies,” we are serving up gooey loads of knowledge. Here, we’ll provide invaluable streaming advice on kickers and DEF teams who are owned in less than 30-percent of Yahoo! leagues. We list the options in order of best option to “least-best” option (with the strongest recommendations starting at the top).We also include last week’s suggestions and full season results. Points are based on default Yahoo! settings.

No, there are no Week 17 streaming recommendations. The reason? Negative reinforcement. That’s right, you can’t have amazing fantasy analysis if you play in a Week 17 league, so hopefully you learn your lesson and keep the shit at 16 weeks like a normal person.

So why another “Stream Pies” post? Well, in the spirit of accountability, we have to let you know how we fared this season and provide you with some closing thoughts. It’s only right, and it happens right after the jump:

Kicker Results For the Season
Week 16 Results (Points calculated with Yahoo! default settings)
Ryan Succop: 7 points
Adam Vinatieri: 14 points
Final Average for top ranked K in Y! scoring: 11.67 points per game (David Akers)
Final Average for “Stream Pies:” 8.36 points per recommendation

Final Thoughts: I hate talking about kickers, so while I can regale you with tales of how we started the Jason Hanson roster-fest or ushered in the Dan Bailey era, I’ll pass.

Team Defense (DEF) Results For The Season
Week 16 Results (Points calculated with Yahoo! default settings)
Kansas City Chiefs: 16 points allowed, 2 INTs = 5 points
Tennessee Titans: 17 points, sack, INT = 4 points
Jacksonville Jaguars: 23 points, sack, 2 INTs, fumble recovery = 7 points
Final Average for top ranked DEF in Y! scoring: 11.87 points per game (SF)
Final Average for “Stream Pies:” 8.4 points per recommendation

Final Thoughts: While a difference of three points between the top ranked fantasy defense and our “Stream Pies” average seems large, keep in mind that our score ranked 12th among all defenses in points-per-week in Yahoo! That’s right, our recommendations as a whole would’ve been worth a roster spot in 12-team leagues. In fact, many DEFs that were owned in far greater leagues were as productive or straight-up outperformed by our under-30 percent owned squads. Peep it:

CIN: 8.73 per week (69-percent owned)
NE: 8.4 per week (66-percent owned)
PIT: 8.07 per week (95-percent owned)
DEN: 7.03 per week (44-percent owned)
NYG: 7.4 per week (69-percent owned)
TEN: 7.7 per week (40-percent owned)
DAL: 7.73 per week (76-percent owned)

I personally felt that this was a pretty disappointing debut season for our defensive rankings, but the fact that the end-result was still a starter-worthy product in a “bad” year just shows how great I am.

Well, that’s all for “Stream Pies” until baseball season. Please refrain from gouging out your eyes just because we’re taking a break. Yes the sensation of wanting to kill yourself should be very strong knowing that “Stream Pies” is on hiatus until summer. However, there are plenty of things that you can do between now and then that are just as fun as reading this piece. You could, um well…

Aw fuck it, just off yourself.
